Where it all began:
Can you believe Sunkissedcoconut products began as just handcrafted jewelry? After experiencing an accident in high school that limited my hand's mobility, engaging in meticulous tasks like moving my hands to make jewelry allowed me to recover much of my strength. As time passed, friends wanted to purchase the necklaces and jewelry I was making and wearing, which led me to start selling them online. This opportunity was a blessing, especially since I had been unemployed for a few years due to my hands physical limitations.
When it came to clothing, I found that nothing truly satisfied my style; I struggled to discover anything vibrant and comfortable at that time. That time when you searched for sweatshirts and hoodies only fishing t-shirts and overly graphic beach tees came up! This was before the VSCO girl trend, when our main social platforms were Instagram and Pinterest.
I then started to create my own sweatshirts and hoodies to wear, and the same story unfolded! I designed simple playful, colorful t-shirts featuring phrases like "cozy" or "sunkissed," and they took off during that time!
I am amazed at how far Sunkissedcoconut has come today, and I am grateful to all our customers, both new and returning, for being part of this journey. We hope you love every piece from Sunkissedcoconut.
