BRINGING YOU THE best for over 30 years
Like many successful ventures, it all started in his garage. Donald discovered beekeeping later in life, and he describes it as falling in love all over again. At the peak of his business, Donald managed over 1,000 beehives, producing some of the finest tupelo honey in the area.
In 2012, Donald decided it was time to retire. He sold his beehives and honey extraction equipment to a local beekeeper, and we acquired the rest of the business—the honey bottling operation.
In 2022 Will & Wandi acquired the bottling operation from and the beehives and extraction equipment again, ensuring that we continue with the legacy of Donald Smiley. Our bees are right here in Gulf County, next to the Apalachicola River and run the beekeeping, extraction and honey bottling operation from here.
Although tupelo honey remains our top-selling product, we have since broadened our selection to include a variety of honey types. However, our commitment to delivering high-quality, raw, unfiltered honey at a fair price remains unchanged.

Nestled in the Florida panhandle, about an hour east of Panama City, lies our quaint town of Wewahitchka. This peaceful spot is known for two things: the stunning Dead Lakes and the delightful tupelo honey.
Interestingly, these two are closely connected. Tupelo trees, which thrive in wet conditions, grow abundantly in the lakes, rivers, and wetlands throughout this region of Florida. Each year, around mid-April, the tupelo trees burst into bloom, and bees gather the nectar from these blossoms to create exceptional honey. One of our customers once described it as the "food of the gods," and we couldn’t agree more.
