Our Story
Hello! I’m Fiona. I live in Sydney with my little family. And I love fresh veggies, leafy greens & herbs! But there are some things about them that I don't love:
Throwing out rotten veg that cost me so much money 😩
The smell of bagged leaves that have gone to slime 😩
Trying to cram too many containers into my fridge 😩
The never ending search for a storage method that works 😩
The funny thing is, I was actually experimenting with the reusable aspect of vegetable storage, when I accidentally stumbled across the solution to this problem that had plagued me for so long.
Thanks to my long term veggie-storage dramas, I had a good idea about what to try for a reusable veggie bag that would hopefully also keep the veggies fresh. I gave it a go and I was really pleased with the results. So I started keeping all my veggies in prototype Pods.
Shortly afterwards, I bought a bunch of mint from Woolies for a new recipe I wanted to try. But I never got around to trying that recipe and I forgot all about it. Three weeks later I remembered I had a bunch of mint and I assumed it would be rotten. But I was stunned when I found it pristine. I thought I’d see how long it could last and I ended up keeping it for 7 weeks with some, but surprisingly limited deterioration. That was when I thought wow, I’ve actually discovered something pretty amazing!

My sister, Laura, is an amazing artist and animator. She is the artist behind the beautiful artworks featured in our Wildflower collection: Flannel Flower, Wattle, Sea Fig and Gum Blossom. She also created the artworks in our original Rainforest collection: Kinabalu, Tongass and Amazon.

The Journey
Produce Pod started out as a way for me to purge plastic bags from my fridge while I was on maternity leave. It became a side hussle when I went back to work. It started out very small, with with one or two orders every few weeks, and me handwriting every address and taking parcels to the post office on my way to work. Since then it's grown and grown, and the Pods have been featured in Better Homes & Gardens Magazine, They Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and more! It has been sucn an unexpected journey!
