I know it's difficult to navigate the many distilleries, the many production processes, and the different flavors.

When I first discovered whisky, I was a little lost in the face of a diversity that I eventually learned to appreciate, through careful study.

I started, like many others, by drinking whiskies you can find in supermarkets, like Ballantine's or Jack Daniel's.

I didn't drink for pleasure, but for the effect the alcohol produced. I often mixed my whisky with coke to alter the taste...

But I began to change my perspective on whisky when I tasted a Japanese whisky from the Fuji Gotemba distillery.

I realized that whisky was much more than just a party drink and that one could derive great pleasure from savoring all its finesse.

But it was a long road; I didn't have the resources I'm trying to provide on this site. I did a lot of research and numerous tastings before I was able to create a website about the estate.

When I began to understand the subtleties of each whisky and taste its full character, it clicked; a true passion was born.

It is this passion that I seek to convey through this site; I want to help each visitor find the flavor that will awaken their taste buds.

I want to offer an approach designed for beginners to guide them in their quest for the "best" whisky.

For me, there's no real best whisky, but everyone has to find the one that suits them best. That's why I rank them by category rather than overall.
