Where are our katanas forged?

At Katana Italia, the quality of our katanas is at the heart of our concerns, and this is reflected in the places where they are forged. We work with expert craftsmen in different regions of the world, including Japan and China. This diversity allows us to offer a varied range of unique swords, each with its own characteristics and steel nuances.

Most of our katana are forged in a small province in China called Longquan, which has been renowned for decades for its centuries-old expertise in sword forging. This region benefits from decades of experience and a tradition that has been passed down for centuries. Historically, Japan even imported forging techniques and swords from China, thus underlining the importance of this region in the history of sword art.



China, with its less stringent export and forging regulations, allows us to offer hand-forged katanas at affordable prices, starting at €200. This accessibility in no way compromises the quality of our swords, which still benefit from the exceptional know-how of our partner craftsmen.
