The birthplace of our factory, the genesis of our brand.

1970s, New York City. With calm and steady determination, Ida Siu opened her garment factory. In the pursuit of purpose, not fortune or recognition, Ida grew a reputable fashion factory wholesaling to NYC fashion greats: Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.

Its success was owed to the people — dedicated artisans, seamstresses, pattern makers — and Ida, who’d often be found in the cutting room or factory floor. Durability was sewn into seams, careful thought was put into patterns and cuts, and quality was built into the fabric of the factory.

This factory, thoughtfully relocated to Ida’s hometown of Shantou, is where IDA+S garments are cut, sewn and constructed today.

IDA+S is an eco-luxury fashion brand born from this factory — we have complete ownership of the production process. Employing more than 1000 skilled craftspeople in our brand-owned factory, we take a twofold approach to sustainability, respecting both possessions and people.
