Hemlock began in 2016 in sunny La Jolla, California. Our founder, Anthony Lora - a SoCal native - spent countless hours under the sun. Like many, he understood the importance of sun protection but grew frustrated by the lack of durable, stylish options that would last more than a few wears.

Determined to create something better, Anthony turned his vision into a reality- a true garage-born idea. Blending functionality with character, he crafted the first Hemlock hat: a lifeguard hat reimagined as a canvas for creativity and shade.
