Our Story
Founded in New York City in 2012, Figue is a ready-to-wear brand that captures the essence of artisanal luxury through a spirited lens of global influence. Each collection is brought to life with vibrant prints, bold patterns, and intricate hand-embellishments—an invitation for colorful, free-spirited characters to live, dine, dance, and explore with effortless style.

Why we're obsessed with the kaftan
The first kaftan dates back to ancient Mesopotamia, where people kept cool in the loose, breezy style while they busied themselves with inventing the wheel. Desert-dwellers (including Lawrence of Arabia) wore them throughout the ages for that reason. In the 1960s, the billowy silhouette hit the Pucci and Halston runways. Pucci updated the kaftan with energized, psychedelic prints, while Halston infused it with a slinky, urbane minimalism.

Today, the kaftan is a travel staple and a uniform of the international beach set, superyacht society and anyone, anywhere who understands the meaning of offhand chic. Our Addiction to Adornments
Have you noticed that Figue is crazy about chirpy embellishments? It’s kind of hard to miss! We’ve never met a pom-pom or tassel we didn’t love. One reason is history: The English word pom-pom is derived from pombe, French for “knot of ribbons.” Pombe once referred to any adornment on a military hat: a tassel, a rosette, or the perky poof we now call a pom-pom. Each hat pombe represented achievement, celebrating the soldier wearing it. So, while we’re into poms and tassels because they’re playful, elegant, tactile adornments, we also love their original signifiers as points of pride. We hope, when you wear them, that you’ll feel celebrated and appropriately festooned.
